We are committed to providing a safe and respectful birth experience for you, your partner, and your baby. Creating an atmosphere of security and comfort allows you to labor and birth more effectively, with much less need for intervention, and facilitates profound bonding between family members at such a special time.
A gentle, natural birth has a positive long-lasting effect on the bonding and health of the new baby and its mother and father. As Licensed Midwives, we provide complete prenatal care, birth services, and postpartum and newborn care until 6 weeks. Prenatal care includes regular office visits and one home visit at 36 weeks. All diagnostic tests are offered, but not required. Ample time is allowed to discuss all aspects of your care and answer any and all questions. All clients are prepared with supply lists for home birth. We bring an assistant Midwife with us to your birth. You will have a chance to meet the assistant Midwife before the birth. We bring all necessary equipment to your birth. We will make an emergency plan together in case there is a need to transport to the hospital. There are two postpartum home visits. One is 24 hrs after the birth and the next one is between day 3-5. We see all clients back at the office at 2 weeks and 6 weeks. Additional prenatal or postpartum visits are made if needed. Breastfeeding support is always given after the birth and at every visit.
